About La Vieille Charite
La vieille charité is a previous almshouse, now working as a gallery and social focus, arranged in the core of the old Panier quarter of Marseille in the south of France. Built in the vicinity of 1671 and 1749 in the Baroque style to the plans of the planner Pierre Puget, it includes four scopes of arcaded exhibitions in three stories encompassing a space with a focal house of prayer surmounted by an ovoid vault.
In the core of the Le Panier quarter is this dazzling structural mind boggling, worked as a philanthropy protect for the town's poor by neighborhood draftsman and stone worker Pierre Puget 1620– 94, who was born only a few avenues away. With its neoclassical focal sanctuary and exquisite arcaded patio, it's an indication of a more rich age. Section is free, or you can pay for passage to the small Musée d'Archéologie Méditerranéenne and the Musée d'Arts Africains, Océaniens et Améridiens.
