About La Piscine Museum
La Piscine is an exhibition hall of workmanship and industry, situated in northern France. It is all the more formally known as La Piscine-Musee d'Art et d'Industrie Andre Diligent or Le musee d'Art et d'Industrie de la ville de Roubaix, however its regular name gets from the way that it is housed in a previous indoor pool, with a striking workmanship deco inside. The pool was developed somewhere in the range of 1927 and 1932, by the Lille designer Albert Baert.
It shut as a pool in 1985, and was renovated as an exhibition hall by the planner Jean-Paul Philippon, opening in 2000. A cutting edge entrance building, exceptional show space and patio nursery were built inside the rooftop less shell of a connecting material processing plant. The exhibition hall's changeless gathering has its roots in 1835, when an accumulation of texture tests from the numerous neighborhood material industrial facilities was begun.
By 1898 the accumulation was housed in the National High School of Arts and Textile Industry, and was viewed as a method for developing the flavors of the town's specialists, foremen and makers. To this end the gathering consolidated components of writing, expressive arts, science and modern items. The ENSAIT historical center shut with the beginning of World War II, and never revived. From 1990 the accumulations were shown in Roubaix's town corridor, in anticipation of the opening of La Piscine in 2000.
