Hotel de Caumont
About Hotel de Caumont
The Hotel de Caumont is a recorded hotel particulier in Aix-en-Provence. It is situated at 1 lament Joseph Cabassol, in the Quartier Mazarin of Aix-en-Provence. It was structured by designers Robert de Cotte and Georges Vallon, and worked from 1715 to 1742 for Francois Rolland de Reauville de Tertulle, the Marquess of Cabannes. Stone carvers Jean-Baptiste Rambot and Bernard Toro structured the map book. Inside, the passageway has an indoor wellspring, with two arrangements of stairs: one for the family, and another for the staff.
The lodging was acquired by Jean-Baptiste-Francois de Tertulle, child of Francois Rolland de Reauville de Tertulle. Upon his passing, his widow sold it to Francois de Bruny de la Tour d'Aigues. It was acquired by his child, the Marseilles shipowner Jean-Baptiste de Bruny de la Tour d'Aigues, who filled in as the President a mortier of the Parliament of Aix-en-Provence.
