Haguenau
About Haguenau
Haguenau is a second biggest city in the Bas-Rhin after Strasbourg. It is tucked in the upper east corner of the French hexagon, 30 km north of Strasbourg and 35 km west of Baden-Baden in Germany. Haguenau lies quickly south of the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park, a wooden territory of 130,500 hectares containing no under 35 medieval palaces and two Renaissance mansions.
Haguenau figured out how to save a decent amount of chronicled landmarks. Principal among them are the Old Chancellery 1484, a splendid red Renaissance assembling currently lodging the Alsatian Museum, and the neo-Renaissance Historical Museum, worked somewhere in the range of 1900 and 1905. Three doors get by from the medieval city dividers: The Tour des Chevaliers, The Tour des Pecheurs and the Porte de Wissembourg.
The places of worship were saved by the troops of Louis XIV. Among them are the Gothic St. George's Church and St. Nicholas' Church, both initially implicit the thirteenth century. Lamentably they have lost a large number of their masterful fortunes throughout the century, particularly their medieval recolored glass windows and outside figures.
