About Fontainebleau Castle

The Palace of Fontainebleau or Chateau de Fontainebleau, found 55 kilometers southeast of the focal point of Paris, in the collective of Fontainebleau, is one of the biggest French illustrious chateaux. The medieval château and resulting royal residence filled in as a living arrangement for the French rulers from Louis VII to Napoleon III. Francis I and Napoleon were the rulers who had the most impact on the Palace as it stands today. It is currently a national historical center and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The most punctual record of an invigorated palace at Fontaineau dates to 1137.

It turned into a most loved living arrangement and chasing hotel of the Kings of France due to the copious diversion and numerous springs in the encompassing timberland. It took its name from one of the springs, the wellspring de Bliaud, found now in the English patio nursery, by the wing of Louis XV. It was utilized by King Louis VII, for whom Thomas Becket blessed the sanctuary in 1169; by Philip Augustus; by Louis IX, or Saint Louis, who manufactured an emergency clinic and a religious community, the Couvent des Trinitaires, beside the stronghold; and by Philippe le Bel, who was conceived and passed on in the mansion.
