About Dreux
Dreux is a cooperative in the Eure-et-Loir office in northern France. Dreux was referred to in antiquated occasions as Durocassium, the capital of the Durocasses Celtic clan. In spite of the legend, its name was not related with Druids. The Romans built up here a braced camp known as Castrum Drocas. In the Middle Ages, Dreux was the focal point of the County of Dreux. The principal tally of Dreux was Robert, the child of King Louis the Fat. The primary huge skirmish of the French Wars of Religion happened at Dreux, on 19 December 1562, bringing about a hard-battled triumph for the Catholic powers of the duc de Montmorency.
In 1775, the terrains of the County of Dreux had been given to Louis Jean Marie de Bourbon, Duke of Penthievre by his cousin Louis XVI. In 1783, the duke sold his area from Rambouillet to Louis XVI. On November 25th, Penthievre exchanged the nine coffins containing the remaining parts of his folks, Louis-Alexandre de Bourbon, Earl of Toulouse and Marie Victoire de Noailles, Countess of Toulouse, his significant other, Marie Therese Felicite d'Este, Princess of Modena, and six of their seven kids, from the little medieval town to Rambouillet, to the house of prayer of the Saint-Etienne university of Dreux.
