Colmar
About Colmar
Colmar is the third-biggest commune of the Alsace locale in north-eastern France. It is the seat of the prefecture of the Haut-Rhin division and the arrondissement of Colmar-Ribeauville. Colmar's mainstream and religious design tourist spots reflect eight centuries of Germanic and French engineering and the adjustment of their individual elaborate language to the neighborhood traditions and building materials.
Colmar is home to an international summer festival of classical music Festival de Colmar otherwise called Festival global de musique classique de Colmar. In its first form, it was set under the masterful heading of the German conductor Karl Munchinger. Since 1989, it is helmed by the Russian musician and conductor Vladimir Spivakov.
Saint-Martin is the largest church of Colmar and one of the biggest in Haut-Rhin. Shows some early recolored glass windows, a few Gothic and Renaissance models and special stepped areas, a terrific Baroque organ case. The choir is encompassed by a wandering opening on a progression of Gothic houses of prayer, a one of a kind component in Alsatian churches.
