About Cahors Cathedral
Cahors Cathedral is a Roman Catholic church situated in the town of Cahors, Occitanie, France. A national landmark, it is a case of the progress between the late Romanesque and Gothic structural conventions. The congregation was worked by diocesan Gerard de Cardaillac in the 11th century, over a congregation raised in the 7th century by St. Didier of Cahors. The congregation, situated in the downtown area's, has the strong appearance of an invigorated structure: at the time, the neighborhood ministers were in reality likewise ground-breaking medieval masters in their job as checks and aristocrats of Cahors.
One of the arches is enriched with 14th century frescoes, portraying the stoning of St. Stephen just as eight prophets, each riding a creature, in the style of Greek or Hindu gods. The dividers have various other medieval compositions. There are a few tombs, for example, that of Alain de Solminihac, and the valuable relic of the Holy Cap, which as far as anyone knows was worn by Christ and which was conveyed to France by religious administrator Gerard de Cardillac after his outing to the Holy Land in 1113.
