About Battles Gallery

The Battles display is the most critical component of the chronicled exhibitions made in the Palace of Versailles by Louis-Philippe. It involves nearly the whole floor of the south wing of the stronghold and is dedicated to the delineation, in thirty artistic creations, of almost fifteen centuries of French military achievement, from Clovis to Napoleon.The Battles Gallery is the biggest room in the Castle 120 meters in length, 13 meters wide. It involves nearly the whole first floor of the South wing. Outlined and produced using 1833, it is gravely introduced on June 10, 1837 and marks the feature of the visit of the Museum of the History of France .Louis-Philippe accumulates thirty-three works of art speaking to the immense fights that have stamped national history, from the triumph of Clovis in Tolbiac to that of Napoleon Wagram in 1809. All the lines that ruled over France are said: Merovingians, Carolingians, Capetians, Valois and Bourbons.
