About Uspenski Cathedral

Uspenski Cathedral is an Eastern Orthodox church building in Helsinki, Finland, devoted to the Dormition of the Theotokos. Its name originates from the Old Church Slavonic word uspenie, which means the Dormition. Uspenski Cathedral was worked in the vicinity of 1862 and 1868. It was outlined by Aleksei Gornostajev and in light of a sixteenth-century church near Moscow.

The exterior of Uspenski Cathedral isn't intricately improved yet is all things considered hitting with its dark red block dividers and green-and-gold onion arches. There are 13 onion arches taking all things together, speaking of Christ and the twelve missionaries. Inside, the church building houses a rich show of icons and other common Orthodox designs, including an amazing cluster of light fixtures dangling from the vaulted roof. One of the symbols is accepted to work wonders.
