About St. Mary's Church of Lappee
St. Mary's Church of Lappee is a timber Evangelical Lutheran church inside the middle of Lappeenranta, Finland. The production commenced in April 1792 and the church become consecrated in part unfinished in June 1794. The adjacent bell tower became built 1/2 a century later in 1856. The church became built by using Juhana Salonen, a church builder from Savitaipale, and has a capability of 840 humans. Architecturally it is a so-known as double go church and the simplest surviving such church from the 18th century in Finland. The altarpiece became painted by using Aleksandra Frosterus-Saltin in 1887 and depicts the Ascension of Jesus.
The church is listed as a nationally widespread built history web page by using the Finnish National Board of Antiquities. The Finnish Heritage Agency preserves Finland's material cultural background: collects, research and distributes information of it. The Agency is a cultural and studies organization, but it's also a government authority charged with the safety of archaeological websites, built background, cultural-traditionally valuable environments and cultural property, in collaboration with different officials and museums.
