About Seitseminen National Park

Seitseminen National Park is located in the municipalities of Ikaalinen and Ylojarvi in Finland. The country wide park was mounted in 1982 and later accelerated in 1989. It now covers forty five.Five rectangular kilometers 17.6 squaremi. The park is a typical mix of upland and lowland coniferous boreal forests of the Suomenselka watershed region. Upland areas are dominated with the aid of closed effective stands of Norway spruce and Scots pine whilst lowland areas are covered via sphagnum swamp and lavatory regions that also contain stunted Scots pine and shrub like Norway spruce.

These swamp and bog areas appear like barren due to the sparse tree densities. Parts of the park include some of the maximum historical and oldest forests which are handy to public in Finland. The Korero Farm Finnish: Koveron kruununmetsatorppa, a tenant farm established in 1859, is a part of the cultural historical past place of the park. Seitseminen National Park obtained the European Diploma of Protected Areas on June 19, 1996. It was legitimate until June 2011. The mires – that cowl more than 1/2 of the park's location – are inhabited via black grouses, commonplace cranes, whooper swans, wood sandpipers and northern willow grouses.
