About Northern Ostrobothnia Museum

The Northern Ostrobothnia Museum is a historical center of social history in Oulu. This commonplace historical center spotlights on the city of Oulu and its encompassing Northern Ostrobothnia area. The historical center is arranged in the Hupisaaret Islands stop in the Myllytulli neighborhood in Oulu, Finland. The historical center was established in 1896 and it was kept up by an exhibition hall society until 1969, when the proprietorship was given over to the city of Oulu.
Between the years 1911– 1929 the gallery worked in an old wooden manor, Villa Ainola, which was crushed in a fire on July 9, 1929. A portion of the accumulations of the exhibition hall were likewise crushed. Not long after the fire the present historical center building started development on the site of the old estate. The new stone house was finished in 1931. The building was outlined by Finnish planner Oiva Kallio. Oulu City Library was additionally situated in the working until 1982.
