About Lahti
Lahti is a Finnish city and the Paijat Hame County Center, located at the southern shore of Lake Vesijarvi inside the province of Paijat Hame. Lahti is Finland's eighth biggest metropolis and the 6th largest city region. It has a 120, 0.5 inhabitants 30 November 2018 and covers an area of 517, 64 km², of which 459, 48 km² are land and the closing 58, 16 km² inland waters 1 January 2019. Lahti is the youngest of Finland's so referred to as vintage cities.
On January 1, 2016, the city of Lahti and the municipality of Nastola merged into a brand new town in Lahti. The neighboring municipalities of Lahti are Asikkala, Heinola, Hollola, Iitti and Orimattila. Based on excavations at Renkomaki in Ristol, the Lahti area was inhabited already 9, 000 years in the past, making the Lahti area certainly one of Finland's oldest recognised dwellings. The first mention of the village of Lahti, which belonged to Hollola, is from 1445. The Hame Land Register from 1558 mentions 24 houses in Lahti. Although Lahti village became the backdrop of a huge Hollola keeper and small in size, its area became amazing for visitors.
