About Heinola
Heinola is a metropolis in the province of Paijat Hame, approximately 30 kilometers northeast of Lahti. The metropolis is home to 18,898 human beings and covers an area of 839.28 rectangular kilometers, of which 163.29 rectangular kilometers are waterways. The population density is 28 inhabitants. The neighboring municipalities of Heinola are Asikkala, Hartola, Iitti, Kouvola, Lahti, Mantyharju, Pertunmaa and Sysma. Heinola has numerous timber processing organizations, along with the Stora Enso board factory and Versowood, and there was a former health center in Reuma. It presently operates as a Valio City Center for Wellbeing and Expertise.
Heinola turned into founded in 1776 because the residence or residence of the governor of the county of Kymenkartano. Heinola was the middle of the county of Kymenkartano. In 1839, it became a metropolis governor after Mikkeli moved to Mikkeli. Heinola become a part of the Mikkeli province till the 1997 reorganization, and in 1997 to 2009 it turned into a part of Southern Finland. The Heinola rural community and the town of Heinola merged at the start of 1997. The village of the previous Heinola rural network continues to be called the Heinola village.
