About Melanesia
Melanesia is a subdivision of Oceania extending from New Guinea Island to Arafura Sea and east to Fiji in the South-Western Pacific Ocean. This region includes the four independent countries of Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Fiji and Papua New Guinea, along with the French special collective of New Caledonia and the Indonesian region of Western New Guinea. Most of the area is in the southern hemisphere, which is in northern hemisphere with some of the smaller Northwestern islands of western New Guinea.
The name Melenecia in French Melanesi was first used in 1832 by Jules Dumont D'Urville to denote an ethnic and geographical group of islands, whose residents thought that they were different from Micronesia and Polynesia. The people of Melanesia have a specific lineage. With the Aboriginal residents of Australia, the Southern Dispersion theory indicates that they were emitted from Africa between 50,000 and 100,000 years ago and spread to the southern shores of Asia.
The boundaries of this ancient migration were Plumb, which was formed when Australia and New Guinea were united by a land bridge as a result of the lower levels of the sea. The first migration took place 40,000 years ago in Platon. Another expanse was later found in the Eastern islands of Melanesia, probably 4000 B.C. And 3000 B.C.
