About World Sight Day

World Sight Day, observed yearly on the second Thursday of October, is a worldwide occasion intended to draw consideration on visual impairment and vision debilitation. It was initially started by the Sight First Campaign of Lions Club International Foundation in 2000. It has since been incorporated into VISION and is composed by IAPB in participation with the World Health Organization.
