About Sublian Festival

A yearly festival wherein a custom move is being done pay reverence to the Holy Cross as a kind of thanksgiving for an abundant gather. The Sublian celebration, a fourteen day long festival which finishes each year on the 23rd of July, is established in the Batanguenos commitment to the town's benefactor: The Holy Cross in Bauan and Agoncillo, and the Sto. Niño in Batangas City as a kind of thanksgiving for a plentiful reap. This religious dedication meant a move from indigenous to Batangas: the Subli. Traditionaly performed to the backup of drums and droning, the Subli acclaims the Patron in a mix of verse, development and music.
