Paryushan
About Paryushan
Paryusan is the most imperative celebration for the devotees of Jainism. For the most part Svetambara Jains call it Paryushana while Digambara Jains call it Das Lakshana. The term Paryushan implies meeting up or withstanding. Jains have a conviction that each Devaa performs Ashtprakari Puja of Tirthankara for 8 days, which is called Ashtanhika Mahotsav.
This time is commended as Paryushan. However a few people tail it as a celebration of 10 days.
