About Nawala Festival
Nawala is usually celebrated by the Gaddis of Kangra, Chamba, Mandi and Kullu. This occasion is also marked as a thanks-giving ceremony to Lord Shiva, who is mostly worshipped in times of misfortune and calamity. The devotional songs praising Lord Shiva is sung whole night during this festival.One of the celebrations that are praised by the Gaddi tribes of Kangra, Chamba and Mandi areas is the Nawala celebration. In spite of the fact that there is no specific day on which Nawala is praised yet it is a yearly celebration that is devoted to Lord Shiva.
