About Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade
The Krewe of Janus brings a family-pleasant, conventional Mardi Gras Parade with marching units, floats, costumes and throws to Northeast Louisiana. This is an annual occasion with an average of 175,000 in attendance. The parade rolls at 6:00 PM, starting in downtown West Monroe and crossing the bridge into Monroe. will be our 36th year. Since the first year in 1984, when crowds were predicted at 35,000, the Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras parade has grown to include over a hundred gadgets and an estimated crowd of 80,000 people in 1993.
In 1994, in a try and improve the parade and feature greater manage, the Krewe downsized the parade entries to encompass simplest floats and marching gadgets. That year, there have been greater than 50 floats and entries and the gang turned into approximately 90,000. During our parade in 2013, the gang numbered in excess of 175,000 human beings. In 2015, the parade direction changed and the crowds grew even extra.
