Chorten Kora
About Chorten Kora
The Chorten Kora festival, also called 'Dakpa Kora', is set in Trashiyangtse, the easternmost region of Bhutan that borders Arunchal Pradesh. Chorten Kora is one of oldest religious religious festivals of eastern Bhutan which is held annually at the Chorten Kora, Trashiyangtse. It is devoted to a young lady from Tawang, accepted to have been a Khando Dakini who consented to be burried alive inside the Chorten. Many individuals from Arunachal Pradesh known as the Dakpas make a journey to Chorten Kora to circumambulate on Dakpa Kora, held on the fifteenth day of the third month comparing to 28th February.
Bhutanese pilgrims then follow with their circumbulation on the 30th day relating to fifteenth March each year. The Chorten Stupa was worked by Lama Ngawang Loday in 1740 on the site where an evil spirit was repressed. It was committed to the memory of his late uncle, Jungshu Pesan. It is accepted to be a copy of the Boudhnath stupa in Nepal and was blessed by the thirteenth boss Abbot of Bhutan Je Sherub Wangchuk. Today, it is viewed as a standout amongst the most imperative verifiable Buddhist structures. It is presently turned into a one of the important festival for peoples of Bhutan and they praised it with incredible excitement.
