Tigray

The Tigray Region is the northernmost of the 9 regions of Ethiopia. Tigray is the place of origin of the Tigrayan, Irob and Kunama peoples. Tigray is also referred to as Region 1 in step with the federal charter. Its capital and biggest city is Mekelle. Tigray is the sixth biggest by way of location, the fifth most populous, and the fifth maximum densely populated of the 9 Regional States.
