About Imi
Imi is a metropolis inside the Somali Region of Ethiopia. It is presently divided to 2 separate towns. East Imi woreda of the Gode Zone and West Imi woreda of the Afder Zone. The Shebelle River runs among those towns. It's placed at an elevation of 442 meters above sea stage. The Central Statistical Agency has no longer posted an estimate for this village's 2005 population. Imi hosts an airport which consists of an unpaved airstrip approximately 1050 meters in period, possibly the shortest in an Ethiopian civil airport Probably the earliest European explorer to go to Imi was Arthur Rimbaud, who turned into operating on the time as a business agent in Harar for the firm of Mazeran, Vinnay and Barday.
In a record of his expeditions into the "Ogadine", dated 10 December 1883, Rimbaud proposed putting in place a trading post at Imi, "a massive, everlasting village situated at the Ogadine financial institution of the river, 8 days from Harar with the aid of caravan."
