About Nag Hammadi
Nag Hammadi is a city in Upper Egypt. It is placed at the west financial institution of the Nile within the Qena Governorate, approximately 80 kilometres north-west of Luxor. The city of Nag Hammadi is named for its founder, Mahmoud Pasha Hammadi, a member of the Hammadi family in Sohag, Egypt. Mahmoud Pasha Hammadi become a major landholder in Sohag, and known for his sturdy competition to the British occupation of 1882. The "Nag Hammadi library", an essential series of 2nd century Gnostic texts, become observed at Jabal al-Tarif near Nag Hammadi became the site in 1945.
Sugar and aluminium are produced in the Nag Hammadi. The Nag Hammadi Sugar factory turned into constructed in 1895-1897 by way of the French contractors Cail and Fives. It is still in operation in 2018. Egyptalum is the largest aluminium manufacturer inside the Middle East. Wood particleboard is fabricated from sugar cane bagasse.
