Cotopaxi

Cotopaxi is a functioning stratovolcano in the Andes Mountains, situated in the Latacunga canton of Cotopaxi Province, around 50 km south of Quito, and 33 km upper east of the city of Latacunga, Ecuador, in South America. It is the second most elevated summit in Ecuador, achieving a stature of 5,897 m. It is one of the world's most astounding volcanoes. Since 1738, Cotopaxi has ejected in excess of multiple times, bringing about the making of various valleys shaped by lahars mudflows around the well of lava. The last ejection kept going from August 2015 to January 2016 Cotopaxi was formally shut by the specialists to moving until it revived on October 7, 2017.
