About Cojitambo
Cojitambo is an Inca and pre-Inca archaeological damage, a popular mountain climbing web site, and a small village west of Azogues, capital of Canar province of Ecuador. Archaeologists have exposed evidence that the site of Cojitambo was occupied from 500 BCE onward. It was in all likelihood each a military and non secular web site of the Canari human beings long before the advent of the Incas. The Incas started their conquest of Ecuador below the emperor Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui dominated c. 1438 to 1471 about 1450.
Prior to the Inca invasion the Cañari in all likelihood consisted of a number of related, however politically impartial, chiefdoms. They united to withstand the Incas, but succumbed about 1460 after a vigorous conflict. The Cojitambo archaeological web page is at an elevation of 3,020 metres meters above sea stage. Azogues is 6 kilometres northeast. The straight-line distance northeast from the city of Cuenca is 18 kilometres. The sheer japanese face of Cojitambo rock rises 150 metres from the outskirts of the village of Cojitambo. The cliffs run for approximately 500 metres in a north-south course.
