Solrod

Solrod is a municipality in Region Sjaelland at the east coast of the island of Zealand in east Denmark. The municipality covers a place of forty km², and has a complete population of 21,582. Its mayor is Niels Horup, a member of the Venstre political celebration. The municipal seat is Solrod Strand. Most of the population lives in an urbanized belt between the coast of Koge Bay and the E47 dual carriageway, evolved within the 1970s. The northern a part of the belt is Solrod Stand; that is the web site of the municipal council.

The southern element is Jersie Strand. The coastal belt is attached by means of S-educate to vital Copenhagen to the north, and to the metropolis of Koge to the south, with stations at Solrod Strand and Jersie Strand. Further inland lies fertile farmland, dotted with the antique villages of Karlstrup, Solrod, Jersie, Kirke Skensved, and Gammel Havdrup. The city of Havdrup has a station on the Lille Syd railway among Roskilde and Koge. Neighboring municipalities are Greve to the north, Roskilde to the west, and Koge to the south. To the east is Koge Bay.
