About Skjern
Skjern Municipality is a former municipality in Ringkobing-Skjern Municipality in Region Midtjylland near the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. The former Skjern municipality covered a place of 327 km2, and had a complete population of thirteen,107. The town has a population of 7,563 population. The important town turned into Skjern. Skjern is a railway town located in western Jutland, Denmark with a population of 7,741. It turned into the main city inside the now abolished Skjern Municipality.
Since 2007 it has been, with Ringkobing, the joint administrative seat of Ringkobing-Skjern Municipality. Skjern is served with the aid of the Stauning Vestjylland Airport, where Danmarks Flymuseum showing ancient plane is also located. On January 1, 2007 Skjern Municipality ceased to exist due to Kommunalreformen. It was merged with present Egvad, Holmsland, Ringkobing, and Videbaek municipalities to shape the brand new Ringkobing-Skjern Municipality. This created a municipality with an area of one,485 km2 and a complete populace of 57,818.
