About Skagens Vippefyr

Skagen's Vippefyr is notable among local people, and guests, it is a navigational light framework arranged in Skagen in the farthest north of Jutland. The principal vippefyr, the first of its kind, was worked in 1627. An enduring copy now stays on a comparable site. It supplanted a preceding parrot light and served until 1747 when the White Lighthouse was brought into undertaking.

The present vippefyr is a dedicated copy of the first. It was the skilled worker Carl Locher of the Skagen Painters who at first made a copy in 1913 on the occasion of Skagen's 500th remembrance. It stayed on the site of the essential vippefyr until Rotary Skagen gave an amusement in 1958. It is lit once consistently for the midsummer good times on Sankt Hans Aften when a blast similarly expends on the shoreline.
