About Skagen Lighthouse
It is a dynamic beacon 4 km upper east of Skagen in the furthest north of Jutland, Denmark. Composed by designer Niels Sigfred Nebelong, it was brought into a task on 1 November 1858. The beacon has a two-ton pivoting focal point lying on mercury. Initially, there was five-mischievous paraffin light which was progressively supplanted with a 1,000 Watt than a 1,500 Watt electric light.
Today there is 400 Watt sodium light which at regular intervals can be seen up to 37 km away. The beacon is available to guests all year with the exception of on Christmas and New Years Eve. Day by day opening hours are 10 am to 4 pm in the winter season and until 6 pm in the late spring.
