About Pandrup
Pandrup is a metropolis with a population of 2,880 1 January 2014 until 1 January 2007 in North Jutland County, now within the North Denmark Region on the northwest coast of the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. Until 2007, Pandrup was additionally the main town of the Pandrup municipality. The Pandrup municipality blanketed a place of one hundred ninety km², and had a total population of 10,676 2005. Its last mayor was Flemming Jansen, a member of the Venstre Liberal Party political birthday party. By 1 January 2007 Pandrup municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen .
It become merged with current Brovst, Fjerritslev, and Aabybro municipalities to shape the new Jammerbugt municipality. This created a municipality with a place of 863 km² and a complete population of 38,864 2005. The new municipality belongs to the new Region Nordjylland North Jutland Region. The major town and the seat of its municipal council turned into the town of Pandrup. Other cities and villages in the municipality had been Blokhus, Hune, Saltum, Kaas, Vester Hermitslev, Ingstrup, Moseby and Jetsmark.
