Otterup

Otterup is a former station city at the northern Funen with 5,218 population, located 15 km north of Odense, 6 km northwest of the loading place Klintebjerg at Odense Fjord and 23 km east of the municipal seat in Bogense. The metropolis is the largest within the municipality of Nordfyns and is placed inside the Region of Southern Denmark.

On the floor Galgedil in western Otterup, Odense Town Museums have determined a burial ground from the Viking Age with a large wide variety of graves. In those, each bone material and Viking items were discovered. In the summer of 2005, when the vicinity turned into to be laid out as a detached house constructing, another 19 graves were found, which delivered the full quantity to 50. Thus, the burial ground is the most important recognised Viking burial ground on Funen. The meetings can be visited at Odense Museum. In the western outskirts of the town is the previous manor house Nislevgard. Its owner, in 1722, installation the Savior's Hospital in a house at the church with room for 8 buddies.
