Nydam Mose

Nydam Mose is an archaeological website placed at Oster Sottrup, a city positioned in Sundeved, eight kilometres from Sonderborg, Denmark. In the Iron Age, the web site of the bog become a sacred location, where the guns and ships of vanquished armies were offered to the indigenous gods in thanks for victory over the fallen enemy.

Many gadgets have been deliberately destroyed in ritual sacrificial acts, from the period 200–four hundred CE. Nydam Bog has played a role in the Danish countrywide for Southern Jutland. The first recognized finds from the bathroom date from the 1830s, while a local farmer gave vintage swords and shields as toys to his kids.From 1859 to 1863, archaeologist Conrad Engelhardt excavated the bathroom. Engelhardt discovered guns, tools, portions of garb and two intact clinker built boats, one fabricated from o.K.And one fabricated from pine. The guns consist of lances, spears, bows, arrows and round shields. Under these unearths had been the stays of a 3rd boat, which reputedly had been demolished already throughout the sacrifice.
