Nordborg is a town on Als with five,889 population, located 21 km northwest of Fynshav and 26 km north of Sonderborg. The city belongs to the municipality of Sonderborg and is located within the Region of Southern Denmark. It is the island's and the municipality's 2d largest city after Sonderborg. Nordborg belongs to Nordborg Parish.
Nordborg Church is positioned in Nordborg. Nordborg Castle was built round 1150. The agreement that arose around the castle and first noted in 1313, was firstly referred to as Købing, a name that also exists within the region name Købingsmark north-west of Nordborg. Purchasing is an old term for a trading venue, and it's miles acknowledged that items have been formerly transported to and from Nordborg by using Nordborg Baek. In the 17th century, the name officially changed to "Nordborg". From 1680, the town had the fame of plait, which is the term used in the Duchess of Schleswig for buying and selling space. From 1622 to 1730, the northern Als became an impartial duchy. In addition to Als Nørre Herred, it became after 1630 by using aero. Later, Nordborg became the place of job of Nordborg County.
