About Maribo Open-Air Museum
The Maribo Open-Air Museum is a museum located on the western outskirts of Maribo at the Danish island of Lolland. It is positioned 1 kilometre from Torvet, to the west of the Maribo So Camping website online and alrightwoodland, near the northern banks of Sonderso Lake. Opened in 1927, the museum provides a image of village lifestyles in Lolland and Falster within the 19th century. It is the 1/3 oldest open-air museum in Denmark, and is within the backdrop of the Maribo Lakes Nature Park. Its 13 points of interest encompass a windmill and a smithy.
The museum consists of thirteen person homes from the 17th to the 20 th centuries, each illustrating how rustic people of various professions lived and labored in former times, and accordingly disclose to the public the historical building traditions.
