Holeby

Holeby become a municipality on the island of Lolland in Storstrøm County in south Denmark. The municipality protected an area of 116 km², and had a complete populace of 3,982 ,2005. Its remaining mayor became Bjarne Larsen. The important metropolis and the seat of its municipal council was the metropolis of Holeby with a populace of one,441 1 January 2015. Neighboring municipalities had been Nysted to the east, Maribo and Sakskobing to the north, and Rodby to the west.

To the south became the Baltic Sea and the Fehmarn Belt. On 1 January 2007 Holeby municipality ceased to exist because the result of Kommunalreformen "The Municipality Reform" of 2007. It merged with the municipalities of Hojreby, Maribo, Nakskov, Ravnsborg, Rudbjerg and Rodby to shape the new Lolland municipality. This created a municipality with a place of 892 km² and a complete populace of 49,469. The new municipality belongs to the brand new Region Sjælland "Zealand Region".
