About Gribskov
Gribskov is Denmark's fourth largest wooded area, comprising c. Five,six hundred ha of wooded area located in northern Zealand, west and south of Lake Esrum. The wooded area is owned and administered by means of the State of Denmark, and a part of the Kongernes Nordsjælland National Park. In July 2015, it was certainly one of 3 forests protected in a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Par force searching panorama in North Zealand. Gribskov is usually divided into four sections: The northwest surrounding the small village of Maarum, the northeast at the banks of Lake Esrum, the southwest across the small lake of Gribso and in the end the southeast, enclosing the village of Nodebo at the southern banks of Lake Esrum.
Only a skinny strip of Hillerod town within the south separates Gribskov from many large woodlands together with Store Dyrehave at 1,a hundred ha, Tokkekøb Hegn at 631 ha and numerous smaller woods. Gribskov and Lake Esrum are special as EU habitat directive and Natura 2000 areas, as part of an excellent large keep.
