Frederikssund Museum
About Frederikssund Museum
Frederikssund Museum is the fjord's cultural history museum. The museum, formerly called Færgegarden, is situated in scenic surroundings, and the old Færgegard was back in the late 19th century a guest house. There were guest rooms, sideboard where guests ate, kitchen and utility room. In 1897 the tenant of Færgegarden was called Ditlev Lorentzen, and he rented out especially for summer camps, families with children who came to Roskilde Fjord for light and air. One of the children remembers that Mr. Lorentzen was an unusual gentleman and that the children loved to walk in the woods behind the Faergegarden and pick wild raspberries.
Today, the Færgegården museum is, but you can still pick wild raspberries in the forest. Teaching at the Frederikssund Museum is handled by the museum group ROMU's school service. We strive to be a real and meaningful business partner for you who are a teacher in primary and lower secondary school and in the youth education programs. We attach great importance to the personal meeting between student and museum - but also to involving and using digital media eg.
