About Faxe
Faxe or Fakse is a city at the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. It is located in Faxe Municipality in Region Zealand. The city is most recognised for the Faxe Brewery, a relatively large brewery generating a number beer and gentle beverages. On the threshold of city lies a huge limestone quarry, Faxe Quarry, owned via Faxe Kalk. The name Faxe is antique Norwegian and manner "horse manke", probably with regards to the town's place on a hill.
According to 1 theory, the chief son Rollo, who around 900 conquered the land at Seine's mouth, originated from the Faxe place. The town is cited in 1280. It changed into changed as late as 1851. Among the oldest homes is Faxe Church, which dates from 1440. In 1577 church and vicarage burned, but had been each rebuilt.
