About Danish frigate Jylland
Jylland is one of the world's biggest wood warships, and is each a screw-propelled steam frigate and a sailship. She took part inside the Battle of Heligoland on 9 May 1864, and is preserved as a museum ship in Denmark. During the Second War of Schleswig in 1864, she participated in the naval movement towards the Austrian-Prussian fleet within the Battle of Heligoland on 9 May 1864.
Jylland together with Niels Juel and Heimdall bested Austrian frigates and three small Prussian gunboats, but become unable to keep the blockade of the Prussian North Sea ports. Jylland sustained massive harm throughout the conflict. In the Nineties she become decreased to stationary use and barely escaped scrapping in 1908. She served as a barracks and schooling ship between 1892 and 1908. It become, but, determined to maintain her and she was towed to Ebeltoft in 1960. The hulked frigate further deteriorated until she changed into placed in dry dock in 1984.
