About Church of Our Lady
The Church of Our Lady is one of the biggest houses of worship of Aarhus, Denmark. It is arranged in the focal point of the city not a long way from Aarhus Cathedral. The congregation's tomb contains a stone church dating to 1060 AD. The congregation was initially known as St. Nicholas' Church yet was extended by the development of a Dominican cloister in 1240, the Vor Frue Kloster Our Lady's Priory, of which the present church framed the southern wing.
After the Reformation in Denmark, the name was changed to the Church of Our Lady and King Christian III announced that the encompassing structures, previously a monastery of the Dominicans, should work as a doctor's facility for the wiped out and poor. The congregation was along these lines conceded congregational benefits which authoritatively made it a middle for administrative exercises in its zone.
The crypt church is the most oldest surviving stone church in Scandinavia. Worked in 1060 after the old wooden church had been singed in a strike on the town, the congregation is arranged underneath the principle working of the Church of Our Lady. After its disclosure in the 1950s, it was reestablished and revived on 10 November 1957 and is currently utilized for mass once every week.
