First of all, pay a visit to Jaisalmer Fort, constructed out of golden limestone, thus giving it the name of Sonar Qilla or the Golden Fort. Next, visit ancient buildings from the 12th to 15th century, including Patwon-ki-Haveli, Nathmal-ki-Haveli and Salim Singh ki Haveli, all of which are still inhabited. The intricate carvings and lattice work on these buildings have to be seen to be believed.
