Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage
Enroute to your destination, you can visit one of the most important tourist attraction in Sri Lanka, the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Volunteers and caretakers provide shelter and take care of orphaned, abandoned and injured elephants within the park. You can watch caretakers feed, bathe and help these gentle giants. You want walk with the herd to the nearby river to watch the elephants bathe and play around in water.
Kandy
Lying amidst the hills, Kandy is the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka. While being the second largest city in Sri Lanka it is also famous for its immense beauty and is named as one of the seven UNESCO declared World Heritage sites in the country. With its luxuriant prairie, picturesque lake, longest river of the country and misty mountains, Kandy successfully mesmerizes every visitor unsurprisingly.

There are many other fun water sports such as Banana boat ride, body boat ride, tube ride and canoeing.

Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery - Sri Lanka is globally recognized as one of the few places in the world where you can observe marine turtles in their natural habitat. Five out of seven of the world/’s marine turtle species are found in Sri Lanka and come ashore in Kosgoda to lay eggs, including green, loggerhead, hawksbill, olive ridley and leatherback.
Madu river boat ride /– This River is located in the south of Sri Lanka near Galle. The water of the river is dotted with small islands and the banks are all covered with lush mangrove forests that are home to dozens of incredible animal species. Enjoy hundreds of vibrant tropical birds and a few crocodiles if you/’re lucky enough. These creatures are pretty rare and don/’t like crowds.
Bentota is a haven for relaxation and a great stop for some water sport, be it in the ocean during the season or some fun in the river. There are plenty of reliable water sport centers in the area, so prepare for a final couple of days filled with lots of water-based adventure. The top five water sports activities in Bentota are Snorkeling and Diving, Banana boat & Tube, Wind Surfing, Jet Skiing and Water Skiing.

Japanese Peas Pagoda
On the hillside west of Unawatuna, this impressive pagoda was built by Japanese Buddhist monks of the Mahayana sect in 2005, as part of their scheme to build peace temples in conflict zones (the Sri Lankan war was raging at the time). It’s a (steep) 20-minute hike from the west end of Unawatuna beach, if travelling by road you have to use a narrow 1.6km access road from the highway. The views of Galle Bay and the ocean are spellbinding at sunset
Hikkaduwa Coral Garden
The Coral sanctuary has approximately seventy varieties of multi coloured corals. Visitors can either swim or hire a guide with a glass bottomed boats to view the corals. The coral reefs are the best place to see and admire corals and water is never more than three or four meters deep.
Hikkaduwa Beach
Hikkaduwa beach is a very popular destination to international tourists. It is 98 kilometers south from Colombo. It is a beautiful beach where you can relax, enjoy the sun and have the option of surfing, snorkeling or scuba diving.
Being the site of the famed coral garden, glass bottomed boats are available on hire and visitors can explore the underwater fantasies. It is also an internationally popular destination for board-surfing and surfing.
