This temple is dedicated to the Mother Goddess and is the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas. It is an important pilgrimage spot especially for tantric worshippers. After this, drive towards Shillong. Enjoy your scenic drive towards Shillong as you go higher. Enroute also visit Umiam Lake which is located on the way to Shillong. Enjoy a picturesque lunch and enjoy a short walk around. On arrival at Shillong, check-in at the hotel and rest there for a while. Explore the local cuisines and nightlife of the city by visiting the local markets. Lady Hydari Park /- The park is named after the first lady of the area, Lady Hydari, the wife of the first governor of Assam. It is designed in Japanese garden style that offers some of the best grown rose beds and lush lawns. The park is also has a mini zoo that offers many animals and different species of birds, monkeys and a black panther. It is a home to large population of deer and serow. It is considered as an ideal location for young couples and families to spend some quality time with their loved ones. The Laitlum Canyons /- The Laitlum canyons are surrounded by vast valleys and rocky hills and are also known as the End of Hills.
