Mill Colonnade
About Mill Colonnade
The Mill Colonnade is a huge colonnade containing several warm springs inside the spa town of Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. The shape is one of the traditional symbols of the city. sThe Neo-Renaissance shape has a nave, two aisles and measures 132 m long with the aid of 13 m huge. There are 124 Corinthian columns.
12 statues representing the twelve months of the year sit above the portico. There is a raised orchestra area for the spa orchestra which performs normal, free concerts. Architect Josef Zítek, who also designed the National Theatre and Rudolfinum in Prague, designed the shape, which turned into built between 1871 to 1881. The unique design referred to as for a degree colonnade, but a loss of budget restricted it to one degree. Construction proceeded very slowly and prices grew better. The structure became initially reviled via critics and compared to a mattress of carrots or a bowling alley; at the time it became finished, many believed it had blemished the middle of town.
