Josefov Meadows
About Josefov Meadows
The Josefov Meadows Bird Reserve is a privately owned, publicly reachable nature reserve next to Josefov Fortress close to Jaromer inside the Hradec Kralove Region, Czech Republic. Established in 2008, the location is administered and developed by means of the Czech Society for Ornithology. The moist meadow is being restored with the aim of making a reserve for birds, as well as different fauna and flowers that thrive in wetlands.
The Czech Society for Ornithology started shopping for up land in a place subsequent to the river Metuje and restoring and imitating its unique appearance and characteristic of a floodplain. Thanks to public donations and sponsors, the Society has bought and repaired 100 to 12 months-old irrigation machine that keeps a higher degree of groundwater and is used two times-every year to imitate herbal spring and autumn flooding of the meadows. The area is controlled with the view to accommodate now not most effective wild animals but also the traffic who come to peer them, consequently there are also maintained paths, a chook feeder, observatory towers. The Society is constructing ponds and clearing out aggressively developing flowers, reducing the grasses most effective after the nesting birds had time to hatch.
