About Jaromer
Jaromer is a city within the Hradec Kralove Region of the Czech Republic. It is placed 15 kilometers northeast of the district town of Hradec Kralove. The town lies at the confluence of 3 rivers, the Upa, the Metuje and the Elbe. The city has around 12,500 inhabitants. The ancient vintage town has been inhabited for more than a thousand years. Early inside the eleventh century a Prince of the Přemyslid dynasty built a fortress and named it Jaromer.
The village was increased to the popularity of royal city under King Otakar I of Bohemia. Over 1780 to 1787, the Emperor Joseph II built at the left financial institution of the Elbe and Metuje rivers, the imperial fort Ples. Later this conurbation took the call of Josefstadt. In 1948 the castle city become integrated into Jaromer. The historical vintage metropolis with wonderful arcades and a Marian column designed by means of Matthias Braun was constructed over 1723 to 1727. There become most effective ever a small German-speakme minority and in 1938 the town eluded being integrated into the Sudetenland. The following year to 1945 it was a part of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.
