About Supetar
Supetar is a town on the northern aspect of the Dalmatian island of Brac, within the Split-Dalmatia County, in Croatia. It became the island's official centre in 1827. The Town of Supetar includes Supetar itself and the 3 villages: Splitska, Skrip and Mirca. With a populace of three,213, it is the island's biggest city. It is out there through ferry Jadrolinija, the ferry ride from the mainland city of Split takes forty five mins or thru Brac Airport which is placed 30 kilometres to the southeast.
Old Supetar was located at the small peninsula wherein there may be now a graveyard. The agreement came to an end in the course of the early Christian era. In the past due Middle Ages a brand new agreement commenced around the bay called St. Peter's, from which the city derives its call. It originated from the Latin Sv. Petar at some stage in the Latin populace of the metropolis. Sv stands for Sveti, meaning saint, therefore it takes its name from Saint Peter, that is the call's English equal translation.
