About Starigrad
Stari Grad is a metropolis on the northern side of the island of Hvar in Dalmatia, Croatia. One of the oldest towns in Europe, its role at the cease of an extended, covered bay and subsequent to prime agricultural land has long made it appealing for human agreement. Stari Grad is also a municipality inside the Split-Dalmatia County. The most historic part of Stari Grad falls inside the UNESCO Protected World Heritage Site of the Stari Grad Plain, whilst the complete municipality lies within the surrounding buffer region. Stari Grad became at the beginning named Faros by the Greek settlers from the island of Paros, who arrived in 384 BC.
It is notion that the name may come from the preceding inhabitants of the area. A incredible naval battle became recorded a year after the status quo of Pharos colony by using a Greek inscription in Pharos and via the Greek historian Diodorus Siculus, initiated through conflicts among the Greek colonists and the indigenous Hvar islanders, the Liburnians, who asked their compatriots for help.
